RESUME FALL SCHEDULE AFTER BREAK

 

Fort Bend County Libraries’ University Branch Library, 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, presents a variety of free children’s programs — Mother Goose Time, Toddler Time, Story Time, Pajama Night Story Time, Kinder Korner, and After-School Breaks — every month. These programs are free and open to the public. The fall schedule, which will resume mid – August, is as follows:

 
Mother Goose Time — Mondays at 10:30 am — provides caregiver/infant multisensory circle-time activities — including simple sign language, folksongs and lullabies, and finger plays — that are especially designed to stimulate babies’ social, emotional, and physical development through rhythm and music. Mother Goose Time is intended for infants from age 1 month to 12 months. Program dates are August 12, 19, and 26 ONLY this month.
 
Toddler Time – Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30 am, offers caregiver/child activities, stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age. Program dates are August 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, and 28 ONLY this month.
 
Story Time — Thursdays at 10:30 am — provides stories, movies, and age-appropriate craft activities for pre-school children, 3 to 6 years of age. Program dates are August 15, 22, and 29 ONLY this month.
 
Pajama Night Story Time — Wednesdays at 7:00 pm — gives families an evening option for some activities presented during the day time. This activity will not take place in August; the schedule will resume in September.
 
The Rise & Shine Family Story Time – Saturdays at 10:30 am – provides stories, songs, a film, and a craft for families with children of different ages. Program dates are August 17, 24, and 31 ONLY this month.
 
Kinder Korner – Wednesdays at 4:00 pm – is a time for kindergartners to enjoy stories, movies, crafts and other activities. Kinder Korner will not take place in August; the program will resume in September.
 
The After-School Breaks — crafts, movies, stories, and more for school-aged children in grades 1 through 3 – normally take place on the 2 nd and 4 th Tuesday of the month, beginning at 4:15 pm. The After-School Breaks will not take place in August; the program will resume in September.
 
The Creative Connection — activities specially designed for kids in grades 4 through 8 – will normally take place on the 1 st and 3 rd Saturday of every month, beginning at 2:30 pm. The Creative Connection will not take place in August; the program will resume in September.

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sugar Land Branch Library, 550 Eldridge, presents a variety of free children’s programs — Toddler Time, Story Time, and After-School Breaks — every month. The programs are free and open to the public. The fall schedule will resume mid-August after a brief break.
 
Mother Goose Time will take place on Wednesdays at 11:00 am. The program provides caregiver/infant multisensory circle-time activities — including simple sign language, folksongs and lullabies, and finger plays — that are especially designed to stimulate babies’ social, emotional, and physical development through rhythm and music. Mother Goose Time is intended for infants from age 1 month to 12 months. Mother Goose Time will take place on August 14, 21, and 28 ONLY this month.
 
Toddler Time – Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:15 am — offers caregiver/child activities, stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age. Program dates are August 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, and 29 ONLY this month.
 
Pre-school children, 3 to 6 years of age, will enjoy Story Time, where they hear stories, watch movies, and participate in age-appropriate craft activities, beginning at 11:30 am each Thursday. Program dates are August 15, 22, and 29 ONLY this month.
 
Pajama Night Story Time, the After-School Breaks, and the Creative Connections will not take place in August. These programs will resume in September.
 
SPECIAL FAMILY EVENT
 
Block Party!” – Saturday, August 17, 10:30 am. Families with children of all ages can build their own creations with LEGO®, Magna-Tiles®, building blocks, and more.

UNIVERSITY BRANCH LIBRARY HOSTS

FAMILY GAME NIGHT IN AUGUST

 
Families with children of all ages are invited to spend a fun evening playing games together at Fort Bend County Libraries’ University Branch Library on Wednesday, August
21
, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, in Meeting Room 1 of the library, located at 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, on the UH campus.
 
A variety of board games, cards, LEGO®, and puzzles will be available for Family Game Night, but families are welcome to bring their own favorite games as well. Large-sized= LEGO sets will be available for younger children to enjoy.
 
Gaming of all types at the library encourages patrons to interact with a diverse group of peers, share their own expertise with others, and develop new strategies for gaming and learning. It provides an opportunity for families to reconnect with the educational, recreational, and social value of games.
